- The University of Ljubljana found a home in the building of a former country
mansion, built in 1902. For 20 years, the Faculty of Arts also operated on the
premises before it was moved to the grounds of the National and University
Library. Foto: Mihael Grmek. Source: Wikipedia.
- In 1961, the Faculty of Arts moved to the new building on Aškerčeva Street,
where it still operates. The fifth floor was built in the Eighties, while a
connection to the renovated former woodsheds and garages was built in the
Nineties.
- The archive of the Faculty of Arts keeps all 2,023 successfully completed
doctorates. Those who didn’t manage to achieve the highest academical title can
also be found among the folders, as indicated by Grance Veber's negative grade
from 1923.
- Each Ph.D. candidate who has successfully passed the defense must attend the
ceremony at which the Rector or Vice-Rector promotes them to the title. In
addition, the newly appointed doctor also signs the doctoral protocol of the
University of Ljubljana. Images show the 1920 protocol with Ana Mayer as the first
signed and the current 2019 protocol.

- One year after the completion of his doctorate in 1924, Jug got killed during
an independent ascent on the northern wall of Triglav. In 1930, Milan Gostiša and
Pavla Jesih climbed the same wall and found the place where the rock had broken
off and caused the fatal fall. The location is marked with an X on the postcard.
