NotesThe work was republished in 1923. Matej Hriberšek comments that the book goes beyond the scope of recommended reading (in accordance with reform tendencies) because, in addition to the established six biographies (Miltiades, Themistocles, Aristides, Cimon, Epaminondas, Pelopidas), he added five more: of Pausanias, Lysander, Thrasybulus, Agesilaus and Hamilcar. He chose nine of the most famous passages from the life of Alexander the Great from Curci Rufus (Hriberšek, 2005, 189, 317).
