Notes | The work is probably no longer preserved. Regarding its fate, Andoljšek writes: 'Supposedly the only known copy was located in the National Museum of Slovenia in Ljubljana. It was borrowed by someone from Gimnazija Šentvid in Ljubljana and was destroyed there during the war.' In addition, it was probably not primarily intended for school lessons. As stated by Kidrič, 'His plateltof (primer), which was published 'with higher clearance' but not in the official stock of school books, was intended primarily for private lessons and autodidacts, because it brings completely new additions and formulations by D. and is less consistent with the alphabet that was prescribed for Austrian schools until 1794 than the alphabets from 1784, or 1790 and 1789 /.../.' The preface and paragraphs concerning the methodology are preserved in the transcript in Ilešič's work 'O pouku slovenskega jezika: njega dosedanje smeri in bodoča naloga' (Andoljšek, 1978, 90-93). |
